an outfit to share

i've been rather quiet here recently... but i've had an OOTD to share for a while.

NC has been bouncing back and forth from hot and cold. now that it's november, i really want to be wearing cozy sweaters and fluffy autumn scarves, but that's not reality if it's 50 or 60 degrees outside. the art of mixing seasons in clothes is challenging. i discovered a happy church outfit that makes me feel like winter is coming even though it isn't sweltering. : ) a thin scarf and boots. but no leggings. a tee and jean jacket. but no warm sweater. it's all about balance.

[just so yo know, my mirror is a little warped, and it makes my body look weirdly proportioned.]

everyday style

a cute, structured hoodie instead of a 5 year old sweatshirt?
some olive colored skinnies instead of ratty jeans?
comfy, flat boots instead of sad sneakers?

worn, loved clothes are like old friends. but on the days when you're tired and ready for the tattered sweatshirt, look for something in your closet with the everyday comfy but a little more style.

ready for some autumn shopping...

i want to add some neutral staples to my wardrobe this fall-- jeans, long sleeved t's, and boots. but i always love a little pop of color. here's some inspiration. also check out this and this. : )

bits of autumn

the thought of autumn brings a tingle of excitement--rakes and crunching leaves. pumpkin and hot tea. geese and wispy clouds. jeans and leather boots. pea coats and flats. as the air begins to turn cooler i'm shaking out my warmer cloths and dreaming up fun fall outfits. 

i LOVE the flats-very unique. the neutrals with red and a pop of gray-blue are gorgeous and simple for autumn.

this may be my favorite outfit idea that i've created. it makes me happy. : )

this isn't exactly autumn related. but bed-room accessories are always inspiring.
i love that clock... you can change out the pictures in it. so fun.
i'm also really loving different glass bottles as decorative storage. [what about storing paints and paint brushes in them to display?]
the poster is so colorful and happy.
a bedroom wouldn't be complete without a fun pair of earrings.
and i love the owls. : ) a bit fall-ish but cheerful.

last drops of summer.

the calendar flipped from august to september a bit ago... and the last days of summer are slipping away like a handful of sand. but i was having fun creating outfits one night, and i wanted to make a summer outfit to share before autumn is here to stay. so here's to remembering your happy summer vacation and no school and sparkling lakes and flip-flops and coke slushies and road trips and dripping heat and ping-pong laughter and starry nights.
